The Country

An exchange program to France is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a culture that has in fluenced the western world for hundreds of years. The French are very proud of their contributions to art, literature, philosophy, architecture, food, wine, sports and film. From the Alps near the Italian and Swiss borders to the forest-covered Vosges Mountains in the northeast, the Pyrénées along the Spanish border and the beaches on the Mediterranean, France offers breathtaking scenery!

Choose Your Area

Southern France

Provence or Mediterranean Region- You feel like coming to France on a high school program but choosing the region is essential to you? This program is designed for you: WEP guarantees to place you in sunny Provence area or picturesque Mediterranean region

Urban Area

Are  you highly motivated for a high school program in France but not comfortable with being placed in a rural area with limited public transport. WEP guarantees to place you in an urban environment (over 50,000 inhabitants)

School Life

The French educational system is one of the most thorough in the world. Expectations are high towards the students. Participants will attend classes at a local lycée from Monday to Friday. These include French, Mathematics, Biology, Geography, Physics, History, Physical Education, Foreign Language (English, German, Spanish or Italian)... and optional classes include Economics or a second Foreign Language. The school year runs from September to June

Accommodation

Participants will live with a French family. Like family members they will share the family’s everyday life, participate in activities and adapt to the family rules as if it were their own

Terms of Participation

  • Be min. 14 and max. 18 upon arrival
  • Have good academic results
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of French lessons
  • Have travel insurance covering sickness, accidents, repatriation and third party liability

Financial Terms

Included: Host family search, screening and placement process • accomodation as described • school registration • transfer on arrival • 24 hours emergency support • coordinator assistance & progress reports • mandatory orientation • WEP support to obtain the permit of stay • administrative costs.

Not included: return transportation • local transportation • school costs • lunch if taken at school • personal expenses • travel insurance • passport & visa fee • optional Paris orientation.
